Rev Dr. Desmond Austin is the President of the Trinidad and Tobago Council of Evangelical Churches as well as the Chairman of the Evangelical Association of the Caribbean. Rev Austin service to God spans more than forty years.
A scholarly man of God, in 1982 he received his Diploma in theological studies from the Open Bible Institute of Theology of which he has served as a lecturer from 1983 until present. In 1995, he obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Pastoral Studies from the Caribbean College of the Bible International. In 2011, he acquired his ‘Master of Arts in Family Life Education Degree’ from the OASIS Institute of Higher Learning. In 2016, the CICA International University and Seminary of Houston Texas conferred on Rev Austin the Degree of Doctor of Divinity, hence why today he is referred to as Rev Dr. Desmond Austin.
His influence extends beyond our Caribbean shores, as he is also the Caribbean Representative of the World Evangelical Alliance, as a member of the International Council. He faithfully served on the Executive of the Open Bible Standard Churches for 21 years at various levels, with his last position as the Assistant National Elder Director of the organization. This man of God, has and continues to show dedicated stewardship in ministry, as He is always ready to mentor those who have a servant’s heart.
He is married to Mrs Carol Austin and together they have one son, Josiah Austin.
